About Me

My name is Emma and I am a certified practioner of BodyTalk and Emotional Freedom Technique based near Grantown on Spey in the Scottish Highlands.

I have found these therapies to be life-changing and am passionate about what they can do. I struggled with health and wellbeing for many years. Unable to find answers, I turned to the holistic approach and discovered EFT. I believe that in at least 70% of cases, physical symptoms have an emotional root and in all cases for me, the mind/body connection is fundamental. I found EFT to be a gentle yet powerful tool for releasing deep-rooted emotions, resulting in improvements in health, and mental/emotional wellbeing. Through EFT I discovered BodyTalk and knew immediately I wanted to know more. I was fascinated by its ability to listen to get to the underlying causes of illness by “listening” to the body. I now have much more energy, improved immune system function, less pain and a much better quality of life.

I decided I wanted to learn more about both therapies and certified as an EFT practitioner in 2021. I then completed my BodyTalk training, certifying in April 2023. I still use both for my own health and wellbeing and continue to find them healing and very supportive. In 2022, I also studied BodyTalk Access which is a series of 5 techniques that can be self-applied daily which I highly recommend as a wellbeing tool. You can find out more about this by visiting the International BodyTalk Association website.

Why I believe in these therapies, and the importance of the holistic approach

From the ages of 0-7 we are in a brain wave state called Theta. This is a slow brain wave state in which we are absorbing the world around us at a deep, subconscious level. As adults, over 90% of our brain activity is subconscious meaning that we are running our lives based on this subconscious programming, whether we are aware of it or not. I believe that many physical health issues, and emotional issues such as fears and self-esteem, stem from this time, as well as our perspectives, choices, habits and beliefs about what is possible. This is why issues can remain chronic or return if they have not been addressed at a deeper level. Much more is now known about neuroplasticity and epigenetics, and that it is possible to change deep-seated beliefs and even genetic functioning. Even after this these foundational years, we continue to store emotions and retain subconscious memories of everything that happens to us. Our current picture of health is a result of everything that has happened throughout our lives which is why it is important to look at the full story in order to restore health.

In addition, we live in a time of heightened stress. Chronic stress can wreak havoc on the body and mind and is a leading cause of emotional and physical disease. These therapies can help to release subconcious beliefs, restore bodymind communication, balance energies and release emotions, leading to greater health and wellbeing, improved stress levels and a better ability to support ourselves through good thoughts, habits and choices.

Since discovering both therapies, in addition to increased wellbeing and reduction in symptoms, I have noticed a sustained positive change in choices and habits. As we change internally, so the changes are reflected externally.
