Biography
Emma Versteeg studied at Edinburgh University and the Royal Scottish Conservatoire and, since graduating, has performed across the UK as soloist and ensemble member, including with Cappella Nova, Ludus Baroque and Scottish Voices. As co-founder of trio Vocali3e, she has given several premieres of new work and, supported by Creative Scotland, toured Scotland and the USA in 2015 to perform A Lassie’s Love, a song cycle set to Robert Burns, commissioned by Vocali3e. Emma was also a singer with chamber group Fliskmahoy!, performing an exciting mix of especially commissioned repertoire. As a recording artist, Emma has worked with Meyer Media, performing A Lassie’s Love, and Delphian, performing songs by William Sweeney for the Live Music Now 30th anniversary celebratory cd “Luminate”.
As singing teacher, Emma has over 2 decades of experience, working with the choristers of St Mary’s Cathedral Edinburgh, Fettes College and the National Youth Choir of Scotland Falkirk and Inverness area choirs, as well as teaching privately.
