From Chronic Illness to Better Health: My Journey with BodyTalk Access

I couldn’t remember a time when I felt well — truly well.

As a child, I experienced recurring ear infections and tonsillitis, followed by course after course of antibiotics. As I became older, it often felt like my immune system simply couldn’t keep up. I was constantly run down, dealing with frequent colds, ongoing fatigue, and aching joints and muscles.

At one point, it felt like I spent more time being unwell than healthy.

I knew something needed to change.

Living in a cycle of illness and fatigue

For years, I did what many people do — I focused on improving my lifestyle.

I made changes to my diet. I tried to exercise more regularly. And while these things did help, it was difficult to maintain any consistency. Every time I got ill, it felt like I was back to square one.

It became a frustrating cycle:make progress → get ill → recover → start again

I began to wonder if I was missing something deeper.

Discovering a holistic approach to health

That’s when I came across the BodyTalk System.

What stood out to me was its whole-body approach — the idea that physical health, emotional experiences, and past stressors are all interconnected. Instead of focusing on symptoms alone, it looks at the bigger picture of what’s happening in the body.

In 2020, I decided to take the BodyTalk Access course — a simple, one-day training that teaches a five-step routine you can use daily in just 15 minutes.

It felt realistic. And for the first time, I felt hopeful that I could stick with something.

The small changes that made a big difference

At first, the changes were subtle.

I noticed I had more energy and less physical tension. Over time, my skin looked healthier, and I felt clearer mentally — less overwhelmed by everyday life.

But the real shift came with consistency.

After about a year of practising daily, I realised I wasn’t getting ill nearly as often. Two years later, I experienced something I hadn’t in years — a full summer without hay fever or asthma symptoms.

Where I am now

Today, things feel very different.

Illness is no longer a constant in my life. The chronic fatigue I once struggled with has eased significantly, and I’m now able to maintain a regular exercise routine — something that used to feel impossible.

More than anything, I feel more resilient in my body.

What this journey has taught me

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:

Small, consistent actions can lead to powerful long-term change.

There wasn’t a single “quick fix.” Instead, it was about finding something sustainable — something I could return to every day, even during challenging times.

Six years later, this practice has become part of my daily routine, and I wouldn’t go without it.

Curious about BodyTalk?

Full BodyTalk sessions and Access have both been an important part of my journey, and I’ll share more about full sessions in another post.

For me, Access has felt like a turning point i maintaining my overall wellbeing, particularly when it comes to energy and resilience.

If parts of this resonate with you—especially if you’re dealing with low energy, frequent illness, or feeling stuck in your health—you’re not alone.

BodyTalk might be something new to you, but many people find it a gentle, complementary approach alongside other lifestyle changes.

If you’re curious to learn more or want to explore whether it’s right for you, feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to have an informal chat and answer any questions.
